• Promote efficient construction operations;
• Ensure an adequate supply of skilled craftspeople; and
• Provide for peaceful, efficient and binding procedure for settling labor disputes.

The basic terms of the current agreement are:

• Projects must be over one million dollars in value;
• Provisions are made for open shop contractor participation; and
• Provisions are made for an apprenticeship program.

In so doing, the parties to the Agreement establish the foundation to promote the public interest, to provide a safe work place, to assure high quality construction, to ensure an uninterrupted school construction project, and to secure optimum productivity, on-schedule performance and satisfaction.
